With July 4th right around the corner, check out this easy DIY 4th of July wreath by Average But Inspired to kick off the celebration season. Sure, you can head to the store and purchase a pre-made wreath, but where’s the fun in that? You can even invite your friends and family over for a crafting party so everyone can make their own DIY wreath to display for the 4th of July. Or, if you’re looking for a last-minute decoration item, you make this wreath in no time.
Supplies
- Chalk Markers
- Wire Wreath Form
- Scissors
- Fourth of July Tinsel Garland
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue
- Fourth of July Glitter Stars.
- Chalkboard Star
- Ribbon
Instructions
Step 1: Take the wire wreath form and the tinsel garland and weave the tinsel in and out of the wire wreath form so that the tinsel cannot unwrap itself. NOTE: Keep the tinsel close together and tight as you wrap it so it looks full. You can also double-wrap the tinsel if you prefer; just purchase the right amount of tinsel garland.
Step 2: Using the extra tinsel, tie a knot so the tinsel can not unravel, and then cut the excess tinsel garland off with the scissors.
Step 3: Write your phrase on your chalkboard and let it dry. NOTE: You can trace the words with a pencil before using the chalk markers.
Step 4: Loop the ribbon through the hole at the chalkboard star and tie it to the wire wreath form so that star hangs in the middle of the wreath. NOTE: If your chalkboard star does not have a hole at the top, you can drill into the board. You should also
Step 5: Grab your hot glue gun and Fourth of July glitter stars, and glue the stars on the wreath. NOTE: You can glue the stars on the chalkboard, but you should account for that when you write your phrase.
Step 6: You can tie a ribbon onto the back of the wreath to easily hang it, or you can hang it directly by the wire wreath form.
