Lincoln Parish Library Ongoing Programs
The library has a ton of great programs designed to promote literacy and a love for reading among children. One of the most successful programs is the “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program. This program helps parents create a habit of reading to infants and toddlers to help develop their literary skills. By encouraging parents and caregivers to read to their young ones, this program helps children build confidence in their reading abilities from an early age.
Another program, “Goal – Grade One at the Library,” focuses on supporting first-grade students in developing their reading skills and fostering a lifelong passion for reading. The library also offers “Reading Adventures,” an initiative that aims to make reading enjoyable for all ages, recognizing that learning to read becomes easier when it is fun and engaging.
For children aged 8 and up, “Crafternoon” provides an opportunity to unleash their creativity through various craft projects. Additionally, the library hosts an annual summer reading program. The program helps kids retain their skills during the summer break. By participating in this program, learners can keep their reading skills sharp and continue to thrive academically. These ongoing programs at the Lincoln Parish Library are designed to inspire and empower children to become avid readers, setting them on a path of lifelong learning and personal growth.
