When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 pounds.

Interior

The Explorer can seat up to seven passengers. It has standard features like a second-row bench seat, cloth upholstery, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. In addition, driver’s seat memory setting, genuine leather upholstery, and ventilated and heated seats are available on select trims.

There are also several technology features available on the Explorer. You have plenty of cargo space to haul large items or groceries. The Explorer has a maximum of 87.8 cubic feet of space with the second and third rows folded down. Enjoy 47.9 cubic feet with the third row folded down, and 18.2 cubic feet behind the third row. In addition, the Explorer comes standard with a power liftgate, while hands-free liftgate access is available.

Safety

You’ll have peace of mind when you get behind the wheel of the Explore. It’s packed with several standard safety features. These features include forward collision warning, rearview camera, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, driver-attention monitoring, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning.

Optional features like adaptive headlights, surround-view parking camera system, reverse automatic emergency braking, front parking sensors, park assist, adaptive cruise control, evasive-steering assist, and lane-centering assist can be added to select trims.
